Frequently Asked Questions
What kind of therapy do you offer?
I specialize in evidence-based treatment for OCD and anxiety, including Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Inference-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT). Sessions are tailored to your goals, pace, and readiness.
Do you work with teens and adults?
Yes! I work with teens (13+) and adults, especially those navigating OCD, anxiety, ADHD, or autism. If you're neurodivergent or have felt misunderstood in therapy before, you're in the right place.
What is ERP therapy, exactly?
ERP stands for Exposure and Response Prevention. We’ll gradually face the fears or situations that cause anxiety, while not doing the rituals OCD wants you to do. It’s like retraining your brain to understand that you’re safe, without giving in to compulsions.
What’s I-CBT?
Inference-Based CBT helps you understand how OCD tricks you into believing the possibility of something bad is the same as evidence that it’s true. It teaches you to change how you relate to your thoughts, rather than just reacting to them.
Do you offer virtual therapy?
Yes, all sessions are offered virtually through a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform. You can attend therapy from anywhere in Rhode Island or Massachusetts.
Do I have to talk about all my thoughts?
Nope. You share what you feel ready to share. And I promise I won’t judge you. OCD thoughts can be weird, scary, or even taboo—that doesn’t make you weird or scary. We move at your pace.
I’ve done therapy before, and it didn’t help. How is this different?
Most therapy isn’t built for OCD. If you’ve spent time “talking it out” but never felt relief, it might be because you weren’t using the right approach. I use treatments backed by research specifically for OCD and anxiety.
Can you help with ADHD or autism, too?
Yes! I work with many clients who are both neurodivergent and dealing with OCD or anxiety. I bring both clinical expertise and lived experience to help you feel understood and supported.
